PUC Infotech Centre Inaugurated
Professor Vanlalchhawna, Finance Officer, inaugurated the PUC Infotech Centre at Pachhunga University College on Tuesday, March 19, 2024.
Professor Vanlalchhawna stated that Pachhunga University College, being one of the best colleges in the country, should strive to meet the standards and policies outlined by the NEP 2020, which are reshaping the higher education landscape. Meeting the needs of the people and addressing challenges are responsibilities of the college for the people of Mizoram.
Professor H. Lalthanzara, Principal, presented the technical report and expressed gratitude to Mizoram University for the financial support provided to establish this centre.
The PUC Infotech Centre will consist of three components: a GIS Lab, a Language Lab, and an Internet Resource Centre, equipped with a total of 140 computers. The GIS Lab will be utilized by students of Geography, Geology, and Environmental Science; the Language Lab will cater to students of English and soft skill courses. The Internet Resource Centre will serve as an online access point for all students’ needs. Additionally, the infotech centre will function as a Computer-Based Test (CBT) centre and an IT and computer software training centre, with provisions for use by commerce students.
The centre is situated on the rooftop of PUC Academic Block V, at a cost of Rs 71,15,164.
