Environmental Science Research Laboratory
The research facility of the Department Environmental Science is composed of the following laboratories and centres:
- Centre for Water Analysis
Following Physicochemical characteristics of water can be analysed at the Centre for Water Analysis.
(i) Temperature; (ii) Turbidity; (iii) Total Dissolved Solids (TDS); (iv) pH; (v) Electrical Conductivity (EC); (vi) Dissolved Oxygen (DO); (vii) Free Carbon dioxide; (viii) Chloride; (ix) Total Alkalinity; (x) Total Hardness; (xi) Total Kjeldahl Nitrogen (TKN); (xii) Total Phosphorus; (xiii) Total Suspended Solids (TSS); (xiv) Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD); (xv) Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD)
- Geoinformatics Laboratory
The GIS-RS laboratory of the department is a state-of-the-art facility for conducting the application-based study and research on geoinformatics. The lab is well equipped with 5-PC workstations, 1 laptop, 1 smart TV, high-speed internet, licensed original ArcGIS Pro Software, modern camera, etc.
- EDUSAT Nodal Centre
Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS) Dehradun conducting Distance base e-learning IIRS Outreach EDUSAT programme throughout the nation. Pachhunga University College is a IIRS EDUSAT NODAL Centre for the state of Mizoram since 2014. Dr. Kulendra C. Das, Assistant Professor, Department of Environmental Science is the Course Coordinator for the IIRS EDUSAT Nodal Centre. This Centre has so far successfully completed four IIRS EDUSAT courses and one National Workshop.
