Mathematics Research Laboratory
About the laboratory: The laboratory was initially set up as a computer laboratory in the year 2014. It is well equipped with 35 computer sets and one overhead projector and one laboratory assistant to oversee the smooth functioning of the laboratory. It is utilised by students of department of mathematics as well as other departments as per their requirements. It is now upgraded to a research laboratory and is used by one project fellow and three research scholars.
Thrust area of research: Area of research in the department includes wave propagation in transversely isotropic medium, effectiveness of ICT (Information and Communication Technology) in mathematics education in Mizoram, some contributions to differential geometry of almost contact manifolds, a study of certain structures on para-contact and Lorentzian para-contact manifolds.
Current ongoing research project: Wave propagation in transversely isotropic medium (SERB-CRQ) with sanction of Rs. 18,15,352. Research fellow- Lalhriattira Fanai
