Red Ribbon Club
Red Ribbon Club (RRC) is a comprehensive promotional and preventive intervention to enhance voluntary blood donation as well as mainstream HIV & AIDS prevention, care & support and treatment impact, mitigation, stigma reduction, among the youth in educational institutions. It also prepares and promotes youth peer educators within the campus.
The Red Ribbon Club of Pachhunga University College has rigorously aimed at achieving the Club’s objectives which are:
To instil life skills into youths to live better and healthier life.
To promote voluntary non-remunerated blood donation among youth.
Promote regular voluntary blood donation by young people and increase access to safe and adequate quantities of blood.
Organize and facilitate voluntary blood donation camps and mobilize the youth for voluntary blood donation.
Create among the youth a cadre of peer educators for seeking and encouraging positive health behaviour as well as ensuring sustainability of the club
Educate youth with correct, concise and adequate information and heighten their level of awareness about HIV/AIDS/STI/sexuality and other related issues (thus eliminate myths and
misconceptions).
Enable youth, especially the female students, to identify and understand situations of exploitation and abuse.
Sensitize the youth regarding care and support needs of PLWHA and instil in them the spirit of helping and supporting the people living with HIV & AIDS (PLWHA) and reduce the stigma and
discrimination against them.
Increase youths’ access to health care services related to STI / HIV/AIDS/drug use.
Create linkages between youth and governmental, non - governmental agencies and CBOs to access safer and responsible healthy behaviour.

ACTIVITIES OF RED RIBBON CLUB BETWEEN 1st June 2025 to 31st May 2026
The following are the activities undertaken by the Red Ribbon Club, PUC during the period 1st June 2025 to 31st May 2026:
1. 1st July, 2025 - The club received a standee for banners from Mizoram State AIDS Control Society to support awareness campaigns.
2. 4th July, 2025 - A Voluntary Blood Donation Campaign was organised in collaboration with NCC, NSS, and the Students’ Union
3. 18th September, 2025 - Students participated in the State Level Red Run 2025 held at R. Dengthuama Indoor Stadium, Aizawl. H. Ngohlaso (3rd Semester, History) secured 1st place (Women’s category). Lalchhanchhuaha (3rd Semester, Geography) secured 11th place (Men’s category).
4. 19th September, 2025 - An HIV/AIDS Awareness Programme was conducted in collaboration with NSS for 1st semester students at Golden Jubilee Hall.
5. 19th September, 2025 - The RRC Nodal Officer Lalnunpuia Renthlei attended a One-Day Training Programme for Nodal Officers organised by Mizoram State AIDS Control Society at Whitestone Conference Hall, Ramhlun North.
6. 19th September, 2025 - Painting Competition Achievement: The college participated in the Red Ribbon Club Painting Competition organised by MSACS and secured 2nd Prize, winning a cash award of ₹7000.
7. 26th September, 2025 - An Awareness Programme on Drug Abuse and HIV among college students was conducted at the Seminar Hall, PUC. Resource persons were invited from MSACS.
8. 6th February, 2026 - RRC participated in the North East Red Fest 2026 organised by MSACS at LPS Arena, Aizawl. Students from 2nd Semester Political Science and Sociology attended and actively engaged in the programme.
9. 13th February, 2026 - RRC participated in the observance of International Condom Day 2026 at Dawrpui Multipurpose Centre, Aizawl. A 3rd semester student, Lalruatsangi Khawlhring from the Department of Philosophy participated in the Dry Condom Design Competition and Fashion Show and won a consolation prize.
10. 10th March, 2026 - A Voluntary Blood Donation Campaign was successfully organised on campus in collaboration with NSS and the Students’ Union, encouraging students to contribute towards saving lives.
