Prajatantra 2024 : PUC participation at the National Youth Festival
The Prajatantra National Youth Festival is an annual event organized by the Praja Foundation in partnership with the National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA) and UN-Habitat. This festival aims to engage young people in participatory democracy and city governance. Through activities such as policy presentations, debates, quizzes, and digital poster creation, participants aged 18 to 30 are encouraged to present their ideas and visions for model city governance.
The theme for the 2024 edition, "Citizen Engagement: Building Block of Democracy," emphasizes the importance of involving citizens in public decision-making. The festival provides a platform for students to voice their opinions and actively participate in discussions on urban governance and policy-making.
The PUC team made an impressive mark at the Prajatantra National Youth Festival 2024 in Lucknow, securing the prestigious title of 1st Runner-Up in the Best Team category. The team, consisting of R. Lalremruati (5th Semester Economics), Malsawmtluanga (3rd Semester History), and Angel Lalruatfeli (5th Semester Biotechnology), was expertly guided by Dr. Lalnundika Hnamte, the faculty coordinator. Their outstanding performance reflects the dedication and hard work of both the students and their mentor.
