Two Day National Seminar on Digital Payment Challenges and Prospects
Economics Department, Pachhunga Univversity College (PUC) organized ‘Two Day National Seminar on Digital Payment: Challenges and Prospects’ at Seminar Hall PUC during 23-24th June 2023.Chief Guest of the Inaugural Session - Prof. Vanlalchhawna, Finance Officer, Mizoram University (MZU), inaugurated the Seminar today (23.06.2023). Prof Chhawna stated that Mizoram University is preparing to become cashless University wherein 90% of all transactions have taken place digitally. The Keynote Address was delivered by Mr. P. Simrah, General Manager-cum- Officer In-Charge, Reserve Bank of India, Aizawl Office stating the role of RBI for facilitating digital payment systems and importance of e-payment in digital world. Prof. H. Lalthanzara graced the occasion and welcomed dignitaries and scholars, who attended the seminar. The Seminar will have resourceful presentation from SBI- Regional Business Office, CID- Cyber Crime and scholars and academicians across the state with interactive session. Online Financial and business frauds as well as the future of digital payment system, its achievements and remedies to solve various problems posed by digital payment platform will be deliberated in the seminar. At the valedictory Session on 24th June, 2023, Dr.C. Vanlalramsanga, IES, Economic Adviser, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Govt. of India will deliver special address on Fin-tech growth and digital payments transformation of financial markets and its policy implications. Apart from two plenary session i.e., opening and valedictory session(s), the seminar will consist of three (3) technical session.
