ADD -ON COURSES AT PACHHUNGA UNIVERSITY COLLEGE

1.Certificate Course in Human Rights: This course is a UGC sponsored course and is conducted by the Department of Political Science. The course was sanctioned on 13th December 2012 and it started from 2013-14 academic sessions. Entry level for the course is Class XII.

2. Diploma Course in Mushroom Cultivation: This course under UGC Community College Scheme is to be conducted from 2015-16 Session. Entry level is class XII and the number of students per course is fixed at 50. Students fellowship of 1000 INR/Month is available for students.

3.UGC Coaching Class: The College conducts UGC sponsored coaching for graduate entry level into services. During 2011 and 2014 the college conducted three coaching programs, in which more than 260 students participated. This course is conducted under UGC cell.  

4. Certificate Course in Introduction to Humanities: The department of English organized a college-funded 3 months Certificate Course in Introduction to Humanities from 29th October to 15th December. The course was opened for 1st Semester students belonging to the school of humanities. This course had six courses contained in the syllabus namely English Literature, Visual Art: Painting, Language: Mizo, Musicology, World Religion and Philosophy.

5.  Bank Recruitment Training: The course is hosted by the Department of Mathematics. This is organized in collaboration with Mahindra Coaching Academy. The course is aimed at helping candidates get jobs in banking services. Entry level for the course is class XII and graduate level.

6.   Finishing School: The college conducts a finishing school for final year students. This course is mainly for personality development. This is a self-financed course.

7.Studentship Training: The College conducts and hosts DBT Sponsored Studentship training for Post-Graduate students. This training is hosted by the Institutional Biotechnology Hub, Department of Zoology. The main aim of the training is to prepare students for future research and job-oriented training.

8. Student training on Modern Biotechnology: The Department of Zoology hosted this programme under Institutional Biotechnology Hub and DBT Star College Scheme. Hands-on training is conducted for one week on DNA extraction and amplification to prepare students for their further studies. This has been conducted every year since 2012.
